Tips for the Scholars Challange
The scholars challenge - An event that most people find the most difficult and an event that nobody likes (last I checked). So here, I'd like to give some tips on the scholars challenge and hopefully, help you ace the challenge and carry all 7 challenge medals back home.
1. KNOW YOUR TERMINOLOGY: Even if the curriculum doesn't include them, you are still expected to know important terms in the subjects! For Art: know the types of artwork and styles of art! For literature: Know forms of poetry and literary terms! For science, know basic scientific terms! You get the idea. This is mainly going to help you in crazy questions that carry a lot of points.
2. BE SURE OF YOUR ANSWER: Many scholars lose most of their points they should have received because they are not 100% sure of their answer. Because they are only partially sure of their answer, they go ahead and choose one or a few more options, and most of their points go away. DON'T DO THAT. Even if you are only half sure of your answer, go ahead and put it down and ONLY put that down. It gives you the full point and an advantage over other scholars who were unsure of their answer. Also it saves time deciding between answers and filling in bubbles, which is annoying.
3. WATCH THE TIME: You have 120 question and an hour to finish them . That doesn't leave much time for pondering on the answers. So you will have to be decisive with your answers. If not, you will have to experience the OMG THERE'S ONLY 10 MINUTES LEFT AND I HAVE TO DO LIKE 30 QUESTIONS ! I'M SO SCREWED moment, which i don't think you will be too happy about.
4. REVISE, REVISE, REVISE: This is pretty obvious but it's important.
Hope these tips will help. If anyone has any more advice, please tell me in the comments. Good luck to everyone in WSC !
Have fun ! Pwaaaa!
